CNC Programmer – Billerica MA
An established plastics company is looking for a CNC Programmer to join the team in Billerica, MA. strong background writing programs for multi-axis Machining Centers using Mastercam. They will have experience leading a small group of machinists and developing new talent. Experience machining materials other than metal, such as plastics and composites, is desirable.
Job Responsibilities
- Develop, setup and run time estimates for machined and fabricated parts to support sales efforts
- Program 3 axis mills, lathes, and CNC routers using Mastercam
- Ability to understand complex geometry, drawing requirements and have excellent machining skills
- Create and review setup sheets and specifications to determine best setup procedure, machining sequence, and quality requirements
- Overseeing, coordinating, and controlling the manufacturing of precision, extremely close tolerance parts, tools & assemblies
- Designing fixtures & tooling and evaluating existing methods to determine best practice and maximize efficiency
- Knowledgeable of in-process inspection. Able to use & interpret precision measuring devices. (micrometers, verniers, hand tools & gages)
- Resolving problems, monitoring work activities & performing related duties under the direction of the Operations Manager
- Troubleshoot manufacturing problems & take corrective action
- Assigning jobs & work to employees
- Interface with sales, production control, quality control, & other departments to define routing, resolve quality problems, & obtain required services and information
- Must be able to work independently and with others
- Must have a minimum of 5 years’ experience and understand all technologies in department
Job Requirements
- Strong communication skills, fluent in English; understand, read and write the English language
- High School Diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Basic mathematics (addition, subtraction, division, multiplication)
- Ability to work with a team, ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Process and detail oriented
